This position is the entry-level role on the professional career path to Service Advisor and eventually Lead Advisor within FPIS, Inc.  Expectations at this level are learning how to create financial plans, at first with heavy supervision and guidance.  Also, help with operations tasks such portfolio rebalancing, client onboarding, and data entry.  Client interaction may be limited at first, gradually building to meeting participation.  This position does not have business development responsibilities or many firm responsibilities but will engage in projects and strategic initiatives as directed, and some administrative duties as needed.

Primary Duties:

  • Rebalance client portfolios by making investment suggestions (under supervision)
  • Analyze client information and prepare reports and presentations
  • Support senior advisor team members by creating financial plans
  • Helps prepare materials needed for client meetings and follow-ups
  • Attends client meetings and takes extensive notes
  • Enters information into financial planning software and prepare draft plans with help from Advisors.
  • Answer basic questions for clients or field calls to appropriate colleagues
  • Assist with client transfers of funds in and out of accounts
  • Enter or update cost basis information
  • Fill out necessary forms or direct operations team to do so
  • Interacts with broker-dealer or custodian to obtain information or account data and convey service requests
  • Maintain information in the CRM system
  • Sets up and retrieves reports in the portfolio management system
  • Assists in generating performance reports

Qualifications

  • No previous experience required
  • Bachelor’s Degree related to finance or economics is necessary
  • Strong desire to pursue coursework for CFP designation required
