A Northeast Wisconsin Printing & Packaging company is looking for a fresh and creative thinking individual to join us in a unique leadership position of overseeing plant operations to help reach our growth initiative. The successful candidate will be accountable for all aspects of plant performance, develop and drive continuous improvement initiatives, inventory management, and will ensure that objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner that’s consistent with quality requirements. He or she will also delegate authority to key supervisors in production, manage all functions involved and direct and coordinate operations for the manufacturing plant.  This position will report directly to the Vice President.

Plant Manager responsibilities and duties:

  • Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations
  • Develop and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Determine KPIs and measure them on a regular basis
  • Participate in various activities related to safety, quality, productivity, innovation, information and data security, supply management, marketing, people management, and HR
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
  • Oversee all shipments, incoming inventory, and storage operations
  • Allocate resources effectively
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Build and maintain a trusting relationship with employees
  • Communicate with employees about performance expectations
  • Give useful feedback to employees
  • Recruit, hire and onboard new staff
  • Ensure smooth daily operations
  • Stay up to date with latest production trends, best practices, and technology
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program

Plant Manager qualifications and skills:

  • Previous working experience as a Plant Manager or relevant role for 5 years
  • Previous working experience in printing & packaging industry for 5 years
  • BS degree in Business Management or similar relevant field
  •  In-depth knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
  • 5 years of experience with various aspects of business such as safety, production, HR, marketing, supply and demand management and other
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
