Hansen Foods has been a Green Bay institution since 1912 when the first home delivery of milk began. Today, Hansen is a $25 million annual sales entity that focuses on frozen pizza manufacturing. We currently are growing our Pep’s brand to be sold nationally, as well as providing many customers primarily throughout the Midwest with their own private label pizza brands.
Hansen Foods is searching for a Transportation Manager to lead our needs in our business. We are looking for an A-Player to help our success. We provide competitive benefits including health & dental insurance, 401(k) profit sharing plan, etc.
What you will do
The ideal candidate will lead all movements of freight in our pizza business, including managing any leased vehicles. This position is responsible for transferring of raw materials and packaging items between our production facility and warehouses. They are the owner of all raw materials, packaging and finish goods movements using Hansen’s trucks and or a 3rd party. They will schedule all finished goods shipments to our customers and problem solve any freight delays, cancellations, or changes. This person will leverage transportation relationships to create efficiency and cost savings while still maintaining high standards of service. This position will also load and unload trucks, as well as assist warehouse staff in picking product, scanning, FIFO product, etc. A few more responsibilities include creating SOP’s, verifying and reconciling freight invoices, scheduling maintenance of company trucks, meeting transportation budgets, and assisting as needed in our various warehouses.
What you need to have
For this position, you must have a proven history in logistics and transportation scheduling for a minimum of 3 years. This person will have a strong understanding of DOT and trucking regulations and experience identifying and realizing efficiencies in transportation. Additional requirements include proficiency using MS Office and the ability to learn other internal programs. Must haves include being detail oriented, organized, excellent problem solver and possess a collaborative and cooperative work style with a “can do” attitude. Excellent verbal and written communications is required, bilingual is preferred but not required. This person must be able to drive forklift and deliver products as needed. A CDL is required or the ability to obtain this license within an applicable time.
